This week there was a large tasting of the goods from Rohmilchkäserei Backensholz GmbH & Co. KG for the employees at Winweb– after his visit to northern Germany, our consultant Fabian had filled the car not only with a big package of tasks , but also with the finest cheese specialties and spreads directly from the farm 😄

We didn't miss the opportunity and today there was a large team breakfast buffet. Raw milk cheese in many varieties, fresh bread rolls, grapes, walnuts and fine jams – the kitchen was the most popular place at Winweb this morning. 🍇

The past year challenged us all. New projects, IFFA and many innovative developments shaped our daily work. We mastered all challenges together – very well indeed! We celebrated together and consciously spent time with one another. The employee celebrations and shared breaks were a wonderful sign of strengthening the team. At the same time, our team grew – professionally as well as personally. New colleagues integrated quickly and existing structures were further strengthened. As every year, this time too we were delighted with a Christmas surprise from the management: a gift basket from the Monschau Mustard Mill, decorated with a kind greeting from the boss, who thanks all employees for the successful collaboration. Despite rain and wind, our employee party took place at the end of last week - with burgers for all colleagues and their partners. It was warm and cozy in the tent, and drinks were well taken care of.

For the second time, the burgers from the Jülich caterer Plantikow were on the employees' wish list - and for good reason: They are simply really good. It was so sociable and delicious that time just flew by and we completely forgot to take photos!

Particularly nice: The teams from the various departments got into great conversation with each other again. These contacts now also provide variety during lunch breaks.

The weather was extremely kind to this year's approximately 7500 participants in the Aachen company run. In unusually high temperatures and a very good atmosphere, seven runners started for Winweb. All of them reached the finish line exhausted but satisfied with good results. More than €10,000 in donations was raised, which will be distributed among Aachen projects that are committed to health, sports, exercise, healthy eating, social inclusion, integration, inclusion, violence prevention and therapeutic support for the common good.

Children and young people should be able to enjoy the summer holidays to the fullest – which is why the Heimatverein Schleiden is organizing – with the support of Aachener Bank and many other sponsors – a varied holiday program during the summer holidays. We are also happy to support this initiative and wish all participants and organizers an eventful and relaxing holiday. 🌞

Winweb was active again at this event: In the best weather, a motivated group of colleagues started at the TeamWalk Aachen. The 9-kilometer route led from the Tivoli over the Lousberg – a steep climb that rewarded us with cool drinks and streusel rolls at the summit. Afterwards, we went back to the stadium through the Soers in a relaxed manner.

Music, cheerleaders and a great atmosphere awaited us there. The route was easy for everyone to manage – and the shared experience strengthened team spirit. Thanks to everyone who took part!

Yesterday we were back at the starting line for the B2Run corporate run – a tradition that we have maintained for many years. In the best weather and with a great atmosphere, we competed as a small but motivated team alongside about 2800 runners. The whole team outdid itself 💪 . Particularly worth highlighting: 🏅 Daniel ran to a sensational 26th place in the overall standings and finished 3rd in the over-30 age group, Fabian achieved a strong 111th place overall and 15th place in the over-30 standings.

Even in the office, anyone can find themselves in a situation where quick action can save lives. That is why some of our colleagues took part in a first aid course organized by the company. With many practical exercises and valuable tips, they refreshed their knowledge and learned new skills.

From the recovery position and cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the safe use of a defibrillator – the course provided comprehensive training for emergencies in the workplace and beyond. Our colleagues are now well equipped to respond correctly in an emergency.

The Winweb team celebrates the traditional winter festival every year across departments. On Friday the time had come again: At the Chinese-Mongolian buffet, we enjoyed delicious food, exchanged news and had the opportunity to get to know new colleagues better. Afterwards, Mufasa & Co. took us into the fascinating Disney world in a movie theater reserved exclusively for Winweb – animation in perfection! 👍

In winter, there's a lot going on here: the individual departments get together and have a small end-of-year or start-of-year meeting. This is how the development department showed what it can do at bowling 🎳, while the extended administration and support treated themselves to a nice shared meal. 🍽 The atmosphere was great! Unfortunately, many couldn't be there due to illness, but we'll make up for that: At the end of January, all colleagues – including the management – will meet for the big cross-departmental get-together. 💬✨ We're already really looking forward to it!

We wish not only our employees happy holidays; but also everyone else who accompanied Winweb this year and whose collaboration we are also looking forward to in 2025!

Even before Christmas, we were generously spoiled this week at Winweb: As thanks for the good cooperation, there was a soul food box full of delicacies as a gift for the employees and, for everyone who wanted one, a shirt with logo embroidery.

On top, Mr. Köhler, who gives us a massage once a week, surprised us with homemade Christmas muffins - that's how we like the Christmas season! 🎄✨🍪

In September, Aldenhoven participated in the “City Cycling” campaign for the first time. Of course, a team from Winweb was also at the start. For three weeks, the 13-member team diligently pedaled away. All routes covered by bike were documented and at the end the kilometers traveled were added up. The result is impressive: With a proud 2760 kilometers traveled, Winweb was able to secure second place in the overall ranking.

Representing the team, Arne von Berg accepted the award last week. Special thanks go to our colleague Stefan, who alone cycled a total of 1111,1 kilometers. A special achievement that was honored separately. By the way, the campaign alone avoided 4 tons of CO² in Aldenhoven, a full 8.088 tons in NRW and even 36.153 tons across Germany. This sets the bar high for the coming year – we are looking forward to it!

After the rain battle last year, our runners were rewarded with bright sunshine at the company run last Friday. 7 of 8 active Winweb runners started on the 6.6 km course. Anyone now wondering why only 6 runners can be seen in the photo: the 7th runner was already on the way on the 9.9 km course, see second photo. Arne von Berg truly ran both distances one after the other! We are deeply impressed by this achievement!

In the DAK campaign “Bike to work”, eight colleagues took part this year. For the trip to the office, they simply left the car behind more often and instead covered a proud total of 3119 km by bicycle, thereby saving a total of 614 kg of Co².

Summer festival 2024 at Winweb – last Friday we met at the BattleKart track in Übach-Palenberg. It was all about virtually collecting fruit, about virtually scoring goals, about blocking the opponent – and of course about speed. Anyone who dared to get on the kart track could feel a bit like SuperMario 😉. Matching that, there was plenty of food with hamburgers and tacos. Almost all Winweb employees were there and had a lot of fun as active drivers or while watching: Until next time!

We are proud to congratulate all five trainees who began their training with us in 2021: All of them achieved a good qualification and, with almost no exceptions, continue to enrich our team. Congratulations!

For the 2024 training year, Winweb has selected two applicants from a large pile of applications. Jennifer Schaffrath will be trained as an IT specialist for application development as part of the Switch program, Tobias Kelter-Dahmen will strengthen our support team as a management assistant for IT system management.

Today the winners of the European Championship prediction game were crowned! After a long time, it was great to once again experience the excitement and fun of a prediction game together with the team.

It was an exciting competition with many surprising twists. Our winners can look forward not only to their accurate predictions, but also to prizes. The top places were honored with a certificate for their outstanding achievements. The happy winner also received a sweet reward: chocolate in the shape of a football, which perfectly suits the occasion.

Many thanks to all participants and organizers for their enthusiasm and commitment. We are already looking forward to the next prediction game for the World Cup!

This year as well, the AOK campaign “Bike to Work” launched on May 1 in cooperation with the ADFC. A total of eight colleagues are taking part! From May to August, the goal is to come to work by bike as often as possible and not only do something for your health, but also save CO2 and thus contribute to protecting the environment. Maybe they will be lucky and snag one of the prizes provided by regional campaign partners.

In an IT company, the fire risk is not all that high. Nevertheless, fire can break out anywhere. We at Winweb are perfectly prepared: Eight more team members were recently trained as fire safety assistants! In the training, they learned everything about fire prevention, extinguishing methods and escape routes. Afterwards, it was time for practice: Various fire extinguishers were tried out in order to be prepared for an emergency.

Unfortunately, the weather conditions were not quite optimal for the participants of the first Aachen Teamwalk. About 1600 participants (13 of them from Winweb) started on Wednesday evening on an almost 9 km long hiking route over the Lousberg, through the Soers, back to the stadium at Tivoli. The pouring rain could not dampen the good mood – not least because of the dancing, ringing or written motivation along the way or the refreshment break with a wide view over Aachen.  Right on time for our finisher photo, a good two hours later, the sun did briefly come out as a reward.

It was that time again: This time, 13 Winweb runners started the B2Run through the CHIO grounds and the Tivoli stadium. The weather god took pity on us and gave us the only dry day of this week. The temperatures were cool, and so our new running jackets were used for the first time. The results were great as always: 2800 runners started, and the best Winweb runner crossed the finish line as exactly the 100th runner. But most importantly: It was great fun again! We will see each other again in May for the team walk!

In the first week of the month (depending on vocational school days and vacation periods, the day changes), our Pizza Day continues to take place regularly. Which and how many members of the team participate varies. Most of the time, there are about 25 people from all departments who use the shared break to exchange ideas and get to know each other better. A good thing, we think. Next time, we will be greeting you from the garden again!

A big, delicious thank you reached the Winweb team for Christmas last week: A wintry, well-filled tin with cheesy specialties. With it, the management thanked each and every individual for their commitment and cooperation, naturally with the best wishes for the holiday season and for the new year

And that was not all that Winweb came up with. In addition, the departments celebrated self-organized Christmas parties according to their preferences. From a LAN party with pizza to an extensive good meal or mulled wine, a VR escape room and billiards – there was something for everyone.

The 10th Aachen company run took place. For Winweb, it was the 6th participation, in which a small team competed due to illness. But neither that nor the weather deterred our runners – both the 6.6km and the 9.9km were completed in great times. Congratulations!

As every year, we had many applications for apprenticeship positions. Four applicants made it, and were warmly welcomed to Winweb on August 1. They strengthen the team as IT systems management clerks and IT specialists for application development.

Our “Bike-to-Work” team is growing!

Since May 1, colleagues have once again been taking part in the AOK campaign “Bike to Work” in cooperation with ADFC. This year, for the first time, it is already over 15% of the workforce! From May to August, the aim is to get to work by bike as often as possible and not only do something for your health, but also save CO2. Perhaps we will even snag one of the promised prizes. 10 Winweb runners started this time in ideal weather conditions at the B2Run Aachen. This run is our favorite run because of the beautiful route, which leads the participants through two riding stadiums and the Alemannia stadium. By the way: Joy, the little bundle of fur, did not run along, but was allowed to be in the photo as a mascot.

An eventful year lies behind us. Winweb took part as an exhibitor at IFFA and at the Meat Congress in Mainz, we celebrated the very good graduations of our trainees and of course our company anniversary. We are pleased about new internal traditions, such as our Pizza Day, and 11-fold growth in the Winweb team (which also had many private reasons to celebrate).

It was a positive year! Winweb starts 2023 full of energy and would like to give all customers, friends and partners something to take with them.

At this year's award ceremony for the best trainees in Wuppertal by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Fabian Quante was honored as the best in the state among information and telecommunications systems clerks. We proudly congratulate him on this achievement and are pleased that he will remain with us as a colleague.

After a long Corona-related break, Winweb's runners were once again able to let off steam at the company run in Aachen. Colleagues took part in all distances of 3.3 km, 6.6 km and 9.9 km and once again achieved great times. Above all, however, it was fun to be carried along by the atmosphere at this event. We will definitely be there again next year!

Winweb had visitors: Mayor Ralf Claßen and Head of Staff Marcel Dederichs visited Winweb and exchanged views at length with members of the management on the milestones of the last 25 years of the company's history. Growth plans for the future were also rolled out. Full support from the municipality was also pledged for the planned construction of a new company building.

“Break Friday” – perhaps the beginning of a beautiful tradition? Taking a break together again, away from the workplace, not alone but in conversation with colleagues, is significantly more relaxing than if everyone continues brooding on their own. We know that and it is supported and encouraged.

So today we were invited to pizza, which we could enjoy relaxed in the garden at the picnic.

After initial silence during the meal, news was exchanged and jokes were made and plans for further break activities were forged.

We are looking forward to the next Friday break!

Heat, the way one imagines hell - a team that could not have been more motivated - results that were impressive: After a two-year break, Winweb took part again in the B2Run in Aachen on Thursday, 11.08.2022, with 14 employees. The best of our runners achieved 73rd place in the individual ranking (out of 1800 participants). All the times of our runners were exceptionally good this year! We wanted to make it!

As every year, we are pleased to once again be able to offer apprenticeships in various professional fields.

In this training year, we were able to welcome three new trainees as colleagues and are confident that we can equip them with the necessary tools for their career path.

In January 2022, three of our apprentices took their exam as information and telecommunications clerks and application development IT specialists at the IHK. They were unusual training years - working from home, supervision and lessons remote. Despite the adverse circumstances, all three graduated with the grade 'very good'. We congratulate them and are proud of their excellent achievements.

Since 1 August, we have been able to call four new trainees colleagues. Winweb is pleased to welcome you.

Exciting tasks and many new impressions await the prospective IT specialists in application development and business people for IT system management – and of course a friendly motivated team of employees that makes acclimatization to the working world and optimal familiarization with the specialist areas possible despite all corona protection measures.

We defied Corona and took part in the virtual company run. From 01.05.2021 to 14.05.2021, company employees all over Germany each ran a distance of 6 km.

8 employees from Winweb took on the challenge. Our best runner finished in 78th place overall (out of 685 participants), which is 18th place in his age group. And our team Winweb 1 fought its way to an excellent 84th place.  The best female Winweb runner placed 46th in her age group (out of 185 female participants).

Running together is clearly more fun, but as the results show, we are staying in training and eagerly awaiting the next run together.

Although the largest part of the Winweb workforce is currently working from home, we are still connected by more than just collaborative work on customer projects. We are not only trying to stay healthy through isolation, but also through exercise:  A running group was launched and by now 13 colleagues are already racing each other – and the trend is rising! In a short time, we have proudly run 666 km – so that we can hopefully see each other again fit soon and, among other things, shine with a particularly high number of participants at the largest nationwide company running challenge FIRMEN-LAUFEN-WEITER in May.

For a bit of normality and as a preventive health measure at Winweb, we are once again regularly stocking our vitamin bar.

Most recently, the supports us with thisFarm shop Kuckertz from the neighboring town, which supplies regional fruit and vegetables whenever possible. In this way, we can sustainably support local trade and enjoy every bite.

We wish all employees, customers, interested parties and suppliers a merry Christmas and a good start to a hopefully good year 2021 full of health and happiness.

… Winweb is celebrating a winter festival. But like so many things, that too will not be able to take place due to the current situation. We are encouraged to drink our glass of wine in the closest circle. The first device went to Winweb: CRT – Clean Room Technology delivered the first RoomGuard to Winweb on Thursday, 18.11.2020. The mobile room filter will ensure clean, virus-reduced air in an office of the programmers. The risk of transmission is minimized and the employees are optimally protected. We are glad to have made a decision so quickly and thus secured fast delivery.

We are proud to report that once again one of our trainees was able to complete his training with top marks. With Tobias Packbier, another highly qualified IT systems management specialist now strengthens our customer consulting team.

Furthermore, the first dual student at Winweb, Denise Kastory, passed her training as an IT specialist for application development well. We are pleased that she will continue to work for Winweb while she now finishes her business informatics studies.

Instead of a Christmas party, we celebrated a winter festival together again.

This year's motto “Pub sports” was enthusiastically received. After refreshments had been provided, table football, darts, billiards and air hockey coaxed almost all participants out of their shell and let us get to know our colleagues from a completely different side.

The highlight was Winweb's own tournament-quality foosball table, which will enrich breaks from now on.

We had a lot of fun and a great evening!

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a good start to the new year. Health, happiness, contentment and many beautiful moments should accompany you in the new year.

This year, Winweb refrained from sending parcels and letters out of consideration for the environment and instead donated an amount to the Aldenhoven food bank.

Last week, the 8th Aachen company run took place with start and finish at the Melaten campus of RWTH Aachen. A total of 8279 runners from the region took part this year and raised a donation amount of 35,000€ under changeable external conditions.

Winweb was also at the start with a new record of a total of 15 runners from all company departments. In the process, we were able to successfully test our new Winweb running shirts for the first time. The team winweb1 even achieved a place in the top 100 of the total 360 teams that took part. Of course, we are proud of all runners, who thereby promote their own fitness and at the same time also do something for a good cause. Since traditions are meant to be maintained, we will certainly be there again next year.

A proud 2.291km was covered by the four-member team of Winweb employees this year.

For the second time, we took part in the campaign “Bike to work” by AOK, in which the journey to work was to be made by bike as often as possible during the period from May to the end of August. We did not win anything, but glory and honor are assured to us.

We will be there again next year!

Summer festival 2019: in glorious weather, we showed what athletic abilities we have in us. Whether football golf or mini golf – the goal was the same: The ball had to go into the hole!

At mini golf, it became clear that life experience and practice led to victory: Mr. Pavic was able to be crowned the winner.

Football golf was a new challenge for almost all participants. Hills had to be shot over, pipes had to be shot through. Even experienced football players reached their limits, but everyone had great fun!

And in the end the winner was decided: Leon Fröhlich sank the ball into the specified 18 holes in just 84 shots! Congratulations!

To finish, we fortified ourselves with a barbecue together and enjoyed the long summer night!

Since 2007, Winweb has now been represented at IFFA in Frankfurt a.M. for the 5th time.

10 colleagues from Winweb started this year’s B2Run in the Aachen Soers with great motivation and just as much fun. Without question, this is our favorite route: running where Alemannia usually plays and the horses jump….

A special location provided the setting for Winweb's ‘New Year's celebration’ this year: the flower hall in Brückenkopf Park Jülich became the Casino Royal.

The employees and their partners could try their luck at roulette, blackjack and poker under expert guidance – completely without risk and their own capital, just for fun.

After refreshments at the buffet, things got started and games were played until well after midnight. Then the winners were decided.

And the winner is….

Another Winweb apprentice in Berlin – Simon Gaul, IT specialist for application development, has made it: with 99 out of 100 points in the final examination of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, he became the best apprentice nationwide in his training occupation. He will travel to Berlin at the beginning of December for the award ceremony.

For Winweb as a training company, it is an extraordinary success to send the best apprentice nationwide for the second time in a row. Managing Director Willi von Berg: “The very good results of our apprentices in recent years show the quality of our training. We are of course particularly proud of such exceptional achievements as those of Mr. Gaul. Providing the best apprentice nationwide again after 2017 will certainly go down in the company’s history.”

The Aachen company run in September is already a fixed date for the runners of Winweb.

This year, over the distance of 9.6 km, the Winweb team took 53rd place thanks to continuous training and increasing ambition and thus improved by 100 places compared to last year!

This year, a particularly large group participated. The training is noticeable, the running times are getting better and better! It was fun, the fan chant in the Alemannia stadium was ours again and the run-in into the large CHIO stadium always gives the finish something special.

In the Winter 2017/18 examination year, one of our trainees once again completed his training as an IT systems management assistant with the top grade ‘very good‘!

S. Anhalt was honored as one of the best in the region by the Aachen/Düren Chamber of Industry and Commerce for his exam result.

Kai Schmaglowski, who trained as an IT systems management assistant at Winweb, passed his final examination with 98 out of 100 points. This makes him the best in Germany in this training program. “We are very pleased with Mr. Schmaglowski’s exceptionally great result”, says Winweb CEO Willi von Berg and is delighted that the young man will remain with the company in consulting and support even after his training.

Even though the flu virus had decimated the number of runners: an unwavering core team kept the Winweb flag flying! At this company run in Aachen, too, we achieved very good results, both in the 4.8 km run and in the 9.6 km run.

The employees are the foundation: on the 20th anniversary we celebrate together

It was meant to be a small family celebration when the employees of Winweb met for a barbecue on Friday. Partners and children also came for the cozy get-together, and over good food and drinks, conversations could take place that there is no time for in everyday life.

At the same time, we honored our anniversary class: there have never been better results in the final exams of our trainees.

1997: Once upon a time…

Managing director Willi von Berg founds Winweb Informationstechnologie GmbH and begins marketing the software winweb-food developed by him. These are not exactly 'garage days', there are bright offices in his own building, but they start small with two additional programmers. One of the first customers – and still a customer – is Schwarzwaldfleisch GmbH in Achern.

2017: What has changed…       What has remained…

Today, 45 employees, mainly programmers, consultants and support staff, take care of the needs of the now more than 150 customers. The offices have moved from the family home to a separate building, equipped with the latest technology and everything that makes a workplace pleasant. – Nevertheless: an impressive, elaborate company building is still not necessary for Winweb. Other priorities take center stage:

The program has grown by almost tenfold, from originally 200 screens to currently about 1700 screens. Customer requests and individual industry requirements of the food industry, especially the meat industry, continually promote innovation and the user-oriented improvement of winweb-food.

Willi von Berg is still the reliable center of Winweb Informationstechnologie GmbH – reliable for the employees in a company with flat hierarchies and quick paths to the boss, – reliable but above all for the customers in fulfilling customer wishes and short response times for new requirements. Winweb as an owner-managed company continues to be a software partner on equal footing for its customers.

All gave their best and at the same time enjoyed the impressive race route: it led through the stadium where Alemannia usually plays, through the meadows, through the area where the carriages drive during the riding tournament, and ended with the finish in the large CHIO stadium directly where the award ceremonies take place during the famous equestrian competition!

The ambience and the good mood ensured very good results: our male colleagues were in the top third, the ladies in the solid midfield!

Friday, 30.09.2016, company run in Aachen and Winweb is sending 7 runners to the start for the first time on the challenging 9,6 km route.

Participants: 447 companies, a total of 7000 runners, and the Winweb runners prove that they can not only move the computer mouse, but can also keep up on the course with fitness and ambition. They proudly place themselves in the first third! Hats off to the fitness of the participants: Mr. Cieslar, Mr. Dankelmann, Mr. Fröhlich, Mr. Hellwig, Mr. Herrmanns and Mr. Kohl.

The traceability requirements for companies in the meat and sausage industry are growing: whether osapiens fTRACE,myNetFair, proprietary solutions from processing companies or food discounters such as Aldi, countless formats are now being demanded from producers and suppliers. All providers of traceability platforms pursue the same goal with the same means – more transparency for the customer through documentation of the companies involved along the value chain that is as seamless as possible. But as important as this is, it should not slow down the processes of the makers. Without an intelligent IT solution, however, this can hardly be implemented anymore.

This is exactly where Winweb is the decisive step ahead, because regardless of the target format of the notification, data of the notifiable goods is recorded centrally, can be evaluated in advance and finally sent to the recipient of the notification.
