Small change, big impact: the empties app

Many business owners with their own vehicle fleet are familiar with the problem of recording delivered and returned empties. In most cases, the empties and other items are documented by hand on the delivery notes. All of this must later be entered manually again in the ERP system in addition to the delivery notes themselves that need to be scanned. This process takes time and is prone to errors.

Winweb has responded to the requirements through the exchange between consulting, product management and customers and has launched an app for managing empties on the market.Winweb appswork in every modern browser and independently of the manufacturer and device. They can be installed on the home screen of all modern mobile devices. Users and permissions are controlled via winweb-food.

The driver can load the documents for the planned tour onto their mobile device in the app before starting the journey. So that no time is lost on the way there by searching for customer addresses, an integrated navigation tool makes it easier to reach the customers. If the driver wants to deliver in E2 crates, for example, they open the document in the app. The crates can be marked very conveniently as “delivered” and the delivery can be acknowledged by the customer in the app. Returned empties are also recorded in the app. Notes can also be recorded digitally on the delivery note. After the tour, the data including signatures are automatically transferred to winweb-food. The delivery note can be automatically forwarded to the customer by e-mail.

Communication is also simplified with the empties app: Internal and external notes can be recorded in the app. Internal notes are stored in the app or in the documents in the document texts for your own information, external notes are printed on the delivery note. If the notes are written to the documents, the recipient is informed by email or via the internal messaging system of winweb-food.

If there is no internet available, the app still does not let the driver down. The documents can be conveniently downloaded before the tour for offline use. Signatures and registered returnables are sent back to winweb-food as soon as there is an internet connection again.

In the future, additional apps will be made available to enable paperless and mobile working. A QA app is currently being developed that allows internal QA inspections to be documented quickly and easily. You can obtain further information from your consultant or via vertrieb@winweb.de.
